STORIES
Queensland Government — Tourism
Overview
The Queensland Government's tourism innovation pilot set out to activate regional tourism operators across the state, equipping them with the tools to capture and share authentic visitor stories at scale. Using Cinefly, the programme onboarded over 100 tourism operators in a single pilot, generating real visitor content that showcased Queensland's diverse regions.
The Challenge
Regional tourism operators lacked the resources and technical capability to produce professional video content. Traditional production methods were too costly and slow to deploy at scale across Queensland's dispersed operator network. The government needed a model that could be adopted rapidly, produce high-quality content, and demonstrate measurable commercial outcomes.
The Solution
Cinefly's platform provided each operator with a guided Storyboard and Director Guides, enabling their staff, volunteers, and visitors to capture professional video stories from their smartphones. The automated post-production pipeline delivered finished content instantly, removing the need for external crews or editing resources. Operators could onboard in minutes and begin capturing stories the same day.
The Result
The pilot activated more than 100 tourism operators across Queensland within weeks of launch. Cinefly took 1st place at the Tourism Innovation Awards — recognition of the model's scalability and commercial impact.
